Hydrogen Innovation Event – A milestone for hydrogen mobility
On 17 March 2025, the August Euler airfield in Griesheim became the centre of innovation in hydrogen mobility. Industry leaders, technology pioneers and sustainability advocates came together to present ground-breaking hydrogen solutions and shape the future of emission-free transport.
A pioneering debut in hydrogen mobility
A special highlight of the event was the exclusive premiere of our pilot vehicle for airport operations – a baggage tug with an innovative hydrogen drive system. This vehicle was developed in a publicly funded co-operation project with Hamburg Airport and supported by the state of Hesse and House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) GmbH. It will soon be tested and used in real operations.
We also presented our newly developed HyGEN hydrogen generator for the first time. This innovative system was developed in collaboration with our partners DILO Armaturen und Anlagen GmbH and HENKELHAUSEN GmbH & Co. KG and sets new standards in sustainable energy supply.
Valuable insights from leading experts
Die Veranstaltung bot spannende Vorträge renommierter Branchenkenner, die fundierte Einblicke in aktuelle Entwicklungen und Anwendungen der Wasserstofftechnologie gewährten:
✅ Dr. Bernd Lenzen (VKM – Institut für Verbrennungskraftmaschinen und Fahrzeugantriebe, TU Darmstadt) – Opening keynote on the future of hydrogen mobility ✅ Maximilian Wack & Silas Hofmann (HTM Hydro Technology Motors GmbH) – Presentation of HTM and its innovative solutions ✅ Tim Schultz (greecon CONSULTING) – Results of the hydrogen study for airport operations ✅ Julian Klaaßen (Hamburg Airport GmbH) – Prospects and potential uses of hydrogen at Hamburg Airport
Focus on infrastructure & applications
Besonders tiefgehende Einblicke boten zwei Fachvorträge:
🔹 Christian Scheller (DILO Armaturen und Anlagen GmbH) – Presentation of advanced hydrogen solutions for airport applications with a focus on efficiency, safety and sustainable hydrogen infrastructure 🔹 Matthias Kellersohn (HENKELHAUSEN GmbH & Co. KG) – Insight into the production and maintenance of hydrogen plants and the role of Henkelhausen in the market
Live demonstrations & valuable networking
In addition to the technical presentations, visitors were able to experience live how the hydrogen-powered baggage tug works in action. The practical demonstrations made it possible to directly experience the performance and advantages of this technology. The event also provided ample opportunity for professional dialogue and networking with industry colleagues.
The event made one thing clear: Hydrogen is no longer just a dream of the future – the transformation starts now!
A heartfelt thank you!
A big thank you to all our partners, speakers and guests who made this day a complete success. Your expertise and commitment to sustainable mobility make a decisive contribution to a cleaner future. Special thanks go to our presenter Melanie Nolte, who guided us through the programme with aplomb.
